Hobson is a welcoming community! Celebrating the families in our program is a cornerstone of Hobson School’s philosophy.
Hobson’s director and teachers partner with and support families during this unique stage of family life. We are committed to maintaining an environment in which all individuals are welcome, included, and treated with dignity and respect. This includes offering ongoing professional development opportunities centered around equity and diversity for teachers and staff; providing resources to help parents talk with children about inclusion; and inviting families to share traditions and participate in the classroom.
We seek to inspire children to develop a sense of belonging as they learn to care about themselves and others.Hobson incorporates the principles of anti-bias education into our program and curriculum as we help children learn about themselves and the world around them while supporting their interactions with other children and adults. This includes giving children tools to act with empathy, respect, and fairness in the face of differences. In the classroom, we also talk about and celebrate our families. We welcome family members into our classrooms to share more about their interests, backgrounds, and traditions.
