PARENT AND CHILD CLASS
(For 2 YEAR OLD CHILDREN) ___________________________________________
Held on Saturday morning, this class is a gentle introduction to school for young children as they play and explore with the comfort of having a parent nearby. You will come to each class with your child, so it is also a great opportunity for you to support your child, get to know other parents and become a part of Hobson’s community. Many parents feel that the Parent and Child Class makes the transition to preschool easier.
(FOR 3-5 YEAR OLD CHILDREN) _______________________________________
Preschool classes provide your child an opportunity to enjoy an early school experience that will simplify the adjustment to elementary school and other social situations. Half day classes are offered Monday through Friday, and your child may attend two, three or five days a week. Every class has at least two teachers and may have up to 20 children. Additionally, a parent volunteer participates in the class every day, which means one adult from your family will volunteer in the classroom every four to six weeks. Many parents treasure their time in the classroom working alongside the children and teachers.
Camp Hobson invites children to play in nature and discover the great outdoors, including the forest preserve that surrounds Hobson School. Children will imagine and create as they explore unique art materials, construct and build with loose parts, work together, and play games.
Big Kid Camps for children ages 5-8 years old are offered at different points throughout the year. Preschool Camp for currently enrolled preschool children ages 3-5 years old is offered in May and early June.
